Local Benefits

Statkraft is committed to providing benefits to the local community which goes above and beyond the green energy we will produce!

At Statkraft we strive to maximise our positive environmental impact through habitat management and we look forward to learning about what can be achieved on this site.

In addition to this, we are offering a community investment fund of £5,000 per megawatt (MW) of installed capacity, the opportunity of community shared ownership and a broadband survey. 

We are keen to work with the community to understand local issues and provide support where appropriate and we want to hear your views on how our project can bring new investment to your community.

We make a commitment to delivering a community benefit fund of £5,000 per MW installed, in line with Scottish Government guidance. 

This fund is dedicated to projects that help accelerate the aims of local communities to make a positive difference.

This could include initiatives such as:

 

  • Improving local infrastructure such as community broadband, EV charging, or new walking and cycling routes
  • Upgrading community buildings
  • Supporting local sports groups
  • Environmental enhancements
  • Skills and education programmes
