Statkraft bring forward 12 turbine project for consultation
Statkraft is progressing plans for Artfield Forest Wind Farm and we have started an online exhibition to present the latest plans to the public.
The proposals in the consultation events are for a 12 turbine project - a reduction of eight turbines from the 20 turbine scheme that Statkraft had originally submitted in their Scoping Request to the Scottish Government’s Energy Consents Unit in May 2020. The latest scheme for 12 turbines follows further design work on the project and consultee responses to the Scoping plans.
The virtual consultation, in line with Scottish Government guidance to move exhibition events online due to the Covid-19 pandemic, will run from Monday 24 August until Friday 18 September 2020.
The Artfield Forest Wind Farm proposal includes a proposed community benefit package of £5,000 per MW of installed capacity, which could mean up to £336,000 per annum for the lifetime of the project. Statkraft is also committed to shared ownership if there is interest in the local community and is the only wind farm developer that has pledged to commission feasibility studies to assess the potential for bringing improved access to broadband to the local area of each wind farm project.
