Public Exhibition Goes Live

The second Public Exhibition for An Càrr Dubh Wind Farm opened on 1 November 2021.

The second pubic exhibition for An Càrr Dubh will run from 1 to 21 November 2021. There are a number of ways to attend or take part. Members of the Project Team are looking forward to meeting the local community to hear your views on the current proposal.

26 turbines were initially proposed for the site and with a turbine tip height of 200m, following site studies and community feedback, the proposal is now for 21 turbines with turbine tip heights of up to 180m. We wish to thank the members of the local community who took the time to provide feedback since we first introduced our proposals.

Scott Vallance, Senior Project Manager, said: 'With Covid-19 restrictions easing we are pleased to be hosting three local in person drop in session events within the community. We wish to thank stakeholders and members of the public for their feedback on the project to date. In addition to the project specific feedback that has helped shape the project, it is clear from the responses that there is interest in improving broadband within the community and finding out more about shared ownership. We look forward to engaging with the community at the three events and as the project progresses.'

To help manage Covid-19 risks we would ask those wishing to attend a drop in session to register in advance. You can do thise on the project website from the 1 November 2021.The drop in session events will be held on:

Tuesday, 9 November 2021 – Ford Village Hall, Ford. 2pm – 7pm.

Wednesday, 10 November 2021 – Dalavich Community Centre, Dalavich. 2pm – 7pm.

Thursday, 11 November 2021 – Loch Fyne Hotel, Inveraray, 2pm – 7pm.

The exhibition drop in sessions have been advertised in the Argyllshire Advertiser, Oban Times (28 and 29 October) and we have also be sent out invitations to all households and businesses surrounding the proposed site. The mailing is expected to land from 1 November 2021.

The virtual exhibition site is now live and you can now view all the material you would expect to see at a traditional village hall event. You can also join us at an online live consultation event on 19 November, 12pm - 2pm to ask us any questions you may have about the proposed development.
