Statkraft places a high importance on being a good neighbour. There are many ways in which local communities can benefit from renewable energy projects in their area, and we want to hear your views on how our project can bring new investment to your community
Community Benefit Fund
Although the redesigned project would have fewer turbines, the community benefit fund would increase to approximately £245,000 per year and equate to over £12 million over a 50 year operating period.
The consented 11 turbine project would deliver a community benefit fund of approximately £231,000 per year, or £7 million over the 30 year operating period of the wind farm.
Statkraft would like to explore the use of this fund with local communities, to promote projects to enhance the quality of life for local communities and visitors through investment in the natural, built and cultural heritage of the area.
We believe that such a fund would be an opportunity to invest in communities close to the wind farm and that it could be used to create an ongoing and sustainable legacy that will outlast the turbines.
