Latest news
After the drop in exhibition on 19th March 2025 at East and Botolph Village Hall, we listened to feedback and submitted the planning application (25/01297/APP) to Buckinghamshire Council on 16th May 2025.
On 2nd July 2026, we will be presenting the East Claydon Greener Grid Park project to the Planning Committee.
We have produced a summary about the project which you can find here.
Planning for a 500 MW BESS, including synchronous compensators for grid stability, was submitted in May 2025. Statkraft UK has worked with the LPA to address all information requests and is targeting committee determination in April–May 2026.
Statkraft has now submitted a planning application REF:25/01297/APP to Buckinghamshire Council for a new Greener Grid Park on land adjacent to East Claydon substation.
Our plans have been informed by the feedback from the pre-application public consultation that we carried out with the local community.

We invite you to attend a public exhibition for our East Claydon Greener Grid Park proposal in Buckinghamshire, close to the East Claydon substation.
Over 1,700 households and businesses will receive an invitation to our drop in exhibition.
We are looking forward to meeting the local community to present our proposals. The project team will be on hand to answer any questions and listen to your feedback.
Drop In Exhibition Details

For those unable to attend the in-person event we encourage you to visit our online exhibition. All the information displayed at the in-person event will be available here from 19 March 2025.
The project team will be at the East and Botolph Claydon Village Hall on Wednesday 19 March between 3pm – 8pm.
Local residents will shortly receive an invitation in the post to meet the project team to find out more about the technology, review our plans, ask questions and provide feedback. Information displayed will also be available to view on this website.
We have submitted an Environmental Impact Assessment Scoping Request to Buckinghamshire Council to progress our plans for East Claydon Greener Grid Park.
This is not a planning application, but is the earliest stage of the planning process to help inform the key studies that will be required to be undertaken and included in any future planning application.
We look forward to engaging with local communities and sharing more details of our emerging plans this Autumn.
