About the site and the Online Exhibition
We are presenting all the information to be displayed at our Public Exhibition on this site to enable access for all.
The online exhibition will be live from 6 - 20 March 2025.
We encourage you to attend the in-person exhibition, which will be held on Thursday, 6 March 2025, at Llangyfelach Church Hall, 2 Heol-y-Geifr, Morriston, SA5 7JD, from 15:30 - 19:30.
Background
Statkraft is proposing a new Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) extension to the Swansea Greener Grid Park. Our proposed extension is on land adjacent to the consented scheme, to the east of Swansea North substation, near Morriston.
As you may be aware, we have recently started construction on our original Swansea Greener Grid Park project. This proposed extension will provide further grid stability and support Wales’ transition to net zero.

As part of our studies, we have created images from specific viewpoints and a 3D overview showing how the Greener Grid Park Extension could look from a variety of locations.
The locations of the viewpoints have been agreed with Swansea Council planning department. They will form part of a full landscape and visual assessment of our proposal characteristics and visual amenity in the surrounding area.
